How does Reiki work?
The practitioner is a conduit for this ’universal energy’ (literal translation) to the client. This energy is utilized holistically and may affect the client physically, emotionally, mentally or spiritually. Or all of the above.
Do I have to make any kind of preparations?
Coming with a clear intention is useful but not necessary. Sometimes people are unsure why they come and that is Caryl’s job to have that become clearer for both the client and herself. Her training as a HHP facilitates this.
What can I expect?
The reactions may be varied and may include, but are not limited to, seeing colours, images, strong emotions, feelings of bliss. Caryl works diligently at being the clearest channel she can be. She usually works with her hands placed above and not touching the body. Although occasional touching may occur, it is almost always limited to the head area. She does begin with a prayer and the client may join in if the client wishes.
Is Reiki a religion? Are you trying to convert me?
Absolutely not on both counts. For Reiki to work there is simply needed a trust between the practitioner and the client. There is no dogma nor do you need to change what you practice in any way.
Does one have to stop seeing a regular doctor in order to receive a Reiki session?
Again, absolutely not. Reiki works as a complementary therapy not against anything that your doctor may prescribe including drugs and surgery. For example, there are clinical studies showing its effectiveness at easing the pain, shortness of breath and tiredness often associated with chemotherapy. This has also been Caryl’s clients experiences. Caryl suggests that whatever you do, whether Reiki, herbs or whatever, you tell your doctor if you are presently under doctor’s care.
Do I have to get undressed?
No, Reikiis done with fully clothed, so please come in comfortable apparel.
I have more questions, what should I do?
Caryl is always open to a call or an email. The contact information is here.
